Getting started with Griff’s H.P.

Thank you for choosing Griff’s H.P. as your website host! Let’s get started.

1 – Register your domain, if you haven’t already (e.g. Godaddy.com)

2 – Contact Griff’s H.P. with the following information:

  • – Domain name
  • – A contact’s first and last name
  • – A contact’s email address
  • – A suggested username (for FTP access)

3 – Once you have submitted your information, wait for your confirmation email (usually within a few hours)

4 – Go to our Support page to finish setting up your domain and point it to our server

Create email address using your domain

If you registered your email through Godaddy, they should have given you free email forwards. This means you can set up an email address using your domain (e.g. user@yourdomain.com) that points to your existing email (via gmail, yahoo, etc.). Here’s how to do it.

1 – Login to your Godaddy.com account

2 – Select Manage next to Workspace Email

3 – Click Create Forward

4 – Enter the email address you want to use with your domain (e.g. user@yourdomain.com)

5 – Enter the email address you want the domain email address to forward to (e.g. your.name@gmail.com) and click Create

6 – Send a test email

Update IP from Godaddy.com

1 – Login to Godaddy.com

2 – Click the “+” next to Domains to expand, then click Manage DNS

3 – Click the pencil next to the “A” record (also make sure you have a CNAME record “www” as shown below)

4 – Change IP address to 71.8.55.110 and click Save

5 – Wait up to 30 minutes (usually around 1 minute) for DNS information to propagate then go to your domain to check.
